Ambience
The Stone Barn was built in 1896
as a part of the largest farm
in what is now known as the “Norwegian Valley”. Encompassing
over 1000 acres, the farm was
originally established by the Olson
family and to this day, has
changed ownership only 3 times.
It has been
home to us since 1991, when we
set about restoring the 5 bedroom
brick Victorian house and the
4 barns that surround it. The
final restoration has been the
huge old Stone Barn. The
50’ by 100’ barn had collapsed
in the 1980s, leaving only the
stone wall foundation. Rather
than demolish the walls which
had stood for over a century,
we decided to salvage them
and create the unique
setting that stands today.
